he knows something's wrong when he catches her staring into space (lol) and he has to wave his hand a couple of times in front of her face to get her attention. she seems more and more lonely, and her cheery attitude falters a bit. he wants to be there for her. but --

jade's young. what does she know about love? then again, what does john know. they're both clueless, and john's just growing more and more blue with the small chance that she might find someone. and he won't. not that he's that keen on having a girlfriend.

he's jealous, but he's also protective. he wants the best for her, while at the same time putting on a happy face for every pester he gets from her. he can't let her know.

sometimes, john like to look at jade and sigh. but it's a dreamy sigh, because jade, well, jade just seems to match up to the impossible. funny, benevolent, and cute.

he lacks in comparison to her. maybe 'cause she's a girl? still, john thinks, if he were a girl he wouldn't be nearly as amazing as her.

She paints colors on her eyes,

and it's hard, being in love with a girl who probably has uber-platonic feelings about him. they're genetic siblings, it's kind of funky! though he's never told anybody. dropped a few hints to rose, steer cleared of dave... both would be bound to pick up on it, regardless. he's funny like that.

he tells her to fly with him, after all, being godtier does have its advantages. he'll do a windy thing or two to impress her, but she'll just smile.

he makes her feel unbelievable. godtier or not. jade makes his heart soar to places unreachable. he'll do anything for her, he's just not convinced of it yet.

he dances with her sometimes. in his head, but also in real life too. mainly he extends the portions that take place in rl and goes a little farther with them, but that's a different story.

she's a fabulous dancer. she likes zoot suits, too! what's most stunning is although she can seem simple-minded, she can really ramble. he loves to listen to her talk, it's so easy to do that with her. space is a really interesting subject!

it's lovely being with her. the amount of giggles and playfighting, it's fun he's never shared with anyone else. what was it about jade that he could relate to so much? they were actually more similar than either of them probably realized.

he realizes this is one of those moments. those moments when in fact, the world is so near perfect and flawless (just for a bit) and he doesn't want the night to end. if it did, and he would never have this chance again, well -- that would just be terrible.
